MBA Candidate Class of 2019,

Paul Merage School of Business

UC Irvine – 2014, B.S., engineering

While earning her B.S. in electrical engineering, and interning at various companies, Joy came to realize her love of computer science. Following graduation, she spent 3 years as a Software Engineer.
Throughout her career, she has worked for Dell/EMC, Thales, Texas Instruments and the US Department of Defense. In addition to her passion for technology, her greatest passion is working with others and leveraging her interpersonal skills. Currently, she is a Full Time MBA Candidate at The Paul Merage School of Business where she has been selected as a Merage Fellow. She is also a Student Ambassador for the Merage School, where she works closely with the Admissions Office to engage potential students.
Beyond school/work Joy is active in the community, volunteering with environmental and educational groups. Most recently she has volunteered with Beach Conservation groups and with the UCI chapter of Challenge for Charity (C4C).
Joy is currently one of the newer members of the UCI Young Alumni Council where she is hoping to increase alumni engagement and support. Being a first-generation immigrant and having put herself through university, Joy hopes to use her experiences to better support the growing number of first generation college students and graduates at UCI.
