Nick Desai is a serial technology entrepreneur who has founded and led numerous technology companies in Southern California over the last 20 years.
Currently, Desai is CEO of FitOrbit.com – a ground-breaking service focused on the obesity epidemic plaguing millions of everyday Americans. FitOrbit provides real one-to-one weight loss and fitness coaching, by real personal trainers, online for only $10/week. Desai has led FitOrbit since it’s founding in 2008. For FitOrbit, Desai has raised more than $15 million in venture capital from Spark Capital, healthcare giant WellPoint, Polar Capital and others.
Prior to FitOrbit, Desai was CEO of Juice Wireless, an award-winning mobile social networking service he founded in 2004. Prior to Juice, Desai was founding CEO of Zkey.com – the web’s first self-updating address book…launched in 1999.
In addition to leading start-ups, Desai has a diverse array of passions including screenwriting, public speaking, strategy consulting and blogging. Desai often credits UC Irvine for enabling him to explore and develop is variety of interests. “The 4 years I spent at UC Irvine gave me so much more than a world-class education,” Desai says. “Those years allowed me to develop all aspects of my intellectual curiosity, and I am extremely grateful for that.”
Desai resides in the Pacific Palisades with his wife Renee, who is a Board Certified Nephrologist in private practice and their identical twin sons, who consume all of their free time.
