CEO, UCI Alumni Association
Assistant Vice Chancellor, Alumni Relations
We are pleased to announce that Barney Ellis-Perry has been named assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations and chief executive officer of the UC Irvine Alumni Association, effective September 2, 2014.
Most recently, Barney has been working in both fundraising and alumni engagement for the past 14 years at his alma mater, the University of British Columbia. Barney’s passion for innovation has played a pivotal role in the university’s comprehensive re-engineering of alumni engagement, especially in the creation and successful execution of a campaign with the dual goals of raising $1.5 billion and doubling alumni engagement by 2015. The alumni engagement goal has already been met, a full year early. Barney also oversaw alumni engagement activities in Asia and special strategies to engage the most influential alumni.
Prior to joining the University of British Columbia, Barney worked for 11 years fundraising for a variety of non-profit organizations.
A recent recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal from the prime minister of Canada, Barney is an active volunteer with the Vancouver Art Gallery, Out In Schools, Georgia Strait Alliance, and Vantage Point. He is also past chair of Volunteer Canada. We are pleased to announce that Barney Ellis-Perry has been named assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations and chief executive officer of the UC Irvine Alumni Association, effective September 2, 2014.
Please join us in welcoming Barney to our campus and alumni community. We look forward to gaining his experience, talents, and enthusiasm as we strengthen and grow our efforts in our alumni relations and engagement.
