What is UCI Care-a-thon?
Hosted by the Student Alumni Association, UCI Care-a-thon is a 6-hour dance marathon benefitting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the UCI Medical Center. Each year, hundreds of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends come together and pledge to dance for 6 hours in solidarity for the newborns that fight for their lives in the NICU every day.
What is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the UCI Medical Center?
The NICU provides comprehensive care for critically-ill premature and full-term infants with the most challenging health complications. Since 2008, UCI Care-a-thon has raised more than $100,000 in support of the NICU because 1 out of every 10 newborns requires NICU care.
