Debbie Miller is the President of Social Hospitality, a boutique marketing communications company, where she helps businesses develop their brand identities, create engaging content, and build their social media presences. She has 10 years of marketing experiences and credits UCI for launching the series of "happy accidents" that led to her career trajectory. Debbie got her first job through an internship via UCI's Humanities Internship Program. Being a nerdy English major with no former marketing experience, Debbie was assigned an internship at a local destination marketing organization. She was hired full-time upon graduation and ended up working there for over 3 years. Debbie's passion for marketing and the hospitality industry grew, and her English degree proved to be a valuable asset for stimulating critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to create compelling marketing copy. In 2011, she began working for a marketing agency, HyperDisk Marketing, and started a blog, Social Hospitality. Although she worked full time, she continued to grow the Social Hospitality brand on the side until it evolved into a full-fledged side business. She worked at HyperDisk for 6 years, departing in January 2017 to focus exclusively on Social Hospitality. When she's not working, Debbie enjoys spoiling her dogs; trying new restaurants; watching movies; reading; and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
