Director of Membership, Balboa Bay Club

UC Irvine – 2011, B.A., social sciences

Selby, (like the Ford Mustang, but without the “h”) graduated from UC Irvine in 2011 with a double major in Political Science and International Studies. As a collegiate anteater, she was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, an organization with which she stays enthusiastically involved as a chapter advisor and Ritual specialist. Selby also holds a certification in Protocol and Etiquette from the International School of Protocol and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C. and is currently working to earn certification in Copyediting from UC Berkeley.

Following graduation, Selby moved to North County San Diego to work for a trademark licensing firm that represented Greek-letter organizations where she assumed the position of Director of Enforcement. After several years however, and a fortuitous job offer, she was drawn back to her home and moved back to Orange County. Presently, Selby is the Director of Membership at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. With 70 years of history as a pillar of the Orange County coastal community, the Balboa Bay Club is a place where Selby enjoys creating a welcoming and meaningful space for members.

Selby grew up in Huntington Beach and now lives in Newport with her fur child, Bailey. Her favorite days are those that begin and end with a trip to the beach with her pup and boyfriend (Bailey’s actual favorite human). In her free time, Selby continues to volunteer for her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, freelance copyediting, and is finally learning to surf and sail.
