Will Um is a partner with the law firm Jassy Vick Carolan LLP. He is a nationally known litigator focusing on complex business litigation, insurance coverage advice, and related coverage litigation.

Will advises and represents corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage claims relating to a variety of matters, including class actions, media liability, intellectual property disputes, data breach and privacy issues, directors and officers liability, and various environmental and toxic tort matters. He also has handled general business litigation matters involving complex commercial contracts, fraud and misrepresentation claims, and unfair competition and unfair business practices.

In addition to trial work, Will also has served as lead counsel in arbitration proceedings across the country and has secured numerous multi-million dollar arbitration awards, including one of the largest defense fee arbitration awards in California history. Over the course of his career, Will has assisted clients in recovering hundreds of millions of dollars in various types of insurance matters. His clients have included companies specializing in technology, entertainment, aerospace, professional services, manufacturing, and oil and gas production.

Will maintains an active pro bono practice. He has assisted the Alliance for Children's Rights in adoption proceedings and handled several matters for indigent clients through the Inner City Law Center, Public Counsel, and the Public Law Center.

Among other organizations, Will serves as an Alumni Regent Designate/Regent to the Regents of the University of California (July 2018 to June 2020). He is a member of the Board of the Inner City Law Center, and is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of California, Irvine School of Law.
